Company data
What Rivemar is
Rivemar Dive Resort sits at La Azohía, a working fishing village on the Murcia coast between Cartagena and Mazarrón, surrounded by two protected areas: the Cabo Tiñoso marine reserve and the Sierra de la Muela–Roldán. It was founded in 1984 by Benito and Anna María, which makes it one of the longer-running dive centres on the Spanish Mediterranean coast.
The centre runs diving in the marine reserve, a full course programme from first dive through technical and rebreather training, cetacean watching off Cabo Tiñoso and the Mazarrón escarpment, stand-up paddle, and organised dive travel worldwide.
Training and style
Rivemar is explicit about how it teaches. Alongside classic equipment it trains in modern configurations — DIR / Hogarthian and RSTC — and describes a training style aimed at fast progression into safe, efficient, environmentally responsible diving. It teaches technical diving and CCR / SCR rebreather, and uses SSI digital training materials.
Published course prices: Tu primer buceo — a first dive in the Cabo Tiñoso marine reserve, no experience needed, from age 10 — €85. Basic Diver iniciación — a short course to dive under supervision as a first step towards certification, with one academic session and two training dives, all equipment, boat trip and activity insurance — €130. Open Water Diver — academic sessions plus six training dives, ending in an international certification — €470.
Enquiry routes published on the contact form cover marine reserve diving, beginner courses, technical and cave diving, SCR or CCR rebreather, dive travel, stand-up paddle and whale watching.
Boats and facilities
The centre's catamarans are purpose-designed: personal space to kit up comfortably in small groups, a table for snacks, and — the detail they are known for — a lift to get divers back on board. Small groups are a stated principle.
On land there is 450 m² for equipment assembly, fast cylinder filling, changing rooms and showers, and a rinse and drying area with personal equipment storage. There is also a terrace bar — la terraza del mar — which the centre treats as part of the product: the place to log dives, plan the next trip and have a drink and a meal.
The centre has installed a renewable self-consumption energy system at the La Azohía site, part-funded under a European-financed incentive programme (Programa de incentivos 1, 34.61% grant, €3,656.38).
The team
Sergi Pérez directs the centre as trainer and CEO, described as passing on a lifetime of exploration experience to the team. The published team is Inma (administration), Sandro (school director), and instructors Susana, Elena, Javi, Virginia and Jony, with Carlos as skipper. The centre states its technical team has broad experience in recreational and technical diving, including exploration and training for special operations teams.
Opening hours: Monday closed; Tuesday to Friday 09:00–15:00; Saturday and Sunday 08:00–17:00.
